Lang Mei
Founder · Inventor · Angel investor
I am Lang Mei, a founder, inventor and angel investor. At 21 I cofounded Informu and coinvented Mu Tag, a loss prevention device driven by AI that sold in more than 69 countries. The patent behind it, which names me as an inventor, was later asserted against Apple over AirTag, and 7 of Apple's own patents cite it. I then cofounded AirDAO and, as CEO, grew its token to a market cap of more than $100 million before handing the network to a council its community elects. Today I am building Ponyo, the matchmaker inside your AI assistant, and the technology behind Tao IP, an AI native patent law firm.

Writing
- ChatGPT sent five of our seven leadsI expected our first clients at Tao IP to come from friends and founders I know. Five of our first seven leads came from ChatGPT, and I did nothing to make that happen.
- Why I priced a patent at $4,000Our full patent package was around $20,000. One call with a biotech founder, and one memory of being a student with no money, brought it to $4,000 for solo inventors and students.
- Nobody used the free patent checkI built a free AI patent check for inventors. Nobody used it. They wanted to talk to a human before they shared a single detail.
